Trane TruComfort™ Variable Speed. The variable-speed compressor operates from 25% to 100% capacity, continuously adjusting heating and cooling output to match your home's needs. This provides more consistent temperatures, improved humidity control, and greater efficiency than traditional single-stage operation.
Trane Link™ Communicating Technology. Trane Link™ allows compatible system components to communicate and coordinate operation as one system. This helps optimize performance while providing advanced system configuration and diagnostic capabilities for technicians.
High-Efficiency Heating & Cooling. With ratings up to 18.1 SEER2 and 8.5 HSPF2, the 18 TruComfort™ provides efficient year-round heating and cooling. Variable-speed operation allows the system to use only the capacity needed as indoor and outdoor conditions change.
Quiet Variable-Speed Operation. Instead of constantly starting and stopping at full capacity, the system can operate for longer periods at lower speeds. This helps reduce operating noise while maintaining more consistent temperatures throughout the home.
Improved Temperature & Humidity Control. Variable-speed operation allows the system to make gradual adjustments as heating and cooling demand changes. Longer, lower-capacity cooling cycles can also provide better moisture removal and indoor humidity control.
R-454B Refrigerant. The 18 TruComfort™ uses R-454B, Trane's current lower-global-warming-potential refrigerant, replacing R-410A in this generation of equipment.
Cleaner, More Consistent Indoor Air. When paired with a compatible variable-speed indoor unit, longer operating cycles keep air circulating through the home's filtration system for longer periods, helping improve filtration and provide more even temperatures throughout the home.
Designed as a Complete Communicating System. The 5TWV8 is a Trane Link™ communicating-only outdoor unit. When matched with compatible Trane Link indoor equipment, thermostat, and system controls, the components work together to manage heating, cooling, airflow, and system performance.
