Our Evaluation Process
What To Expect During The Evaluation
Your Home Energy Evaluation will last for one to two hours, depending on what options you are interested in and what questions you have. At no time will you be pressured to make a purchasing decision. The appointment will be purely informational. You can expect the following to occur during your evaluation:
Taking Detailed Measurements of Your Home
During the first portion of the evaluation, our Comfort Advisor will take detailed measurements of your home, including measuring the square footage and ceiling heights of all the rooms, measuring windows and noting their energy performance rating, looking at your home's insulation, and examining your current system. The Comfort Advisor will use all of the information gathered to perform a "Heat Loss Calculation" which assures the proper sizing of any comfort system options you will receive.
Home Energy Evaluation Questionnaire
While the Comfort Advisor is performing the heat loss calculation, you will be asked to fill out a short questionnaire. This will assist us in giving you information that is taylored to your specific needs and interests regarding your comfort system.
Reviewing Your Options
After the heat loss calculation, the Comfort Advisor will go over some options and make some recommendations regarding the needs and interests you expressed on the questionnaire. The Comfort Advisor will also explain the utility, federal, and manufacturer rebates you may qualify for. Our comfort advisors are well informed in all of the ways you can save money and become more energy efficient. This includes government stimulus programs, local power company incentives, and manufacturer rebates and incentives.
After The Evaluation
Proposal and Energy Evaluation Report
After your Home Energy Evaluation, the Comfort Advisor will send you a proposal with an Energy Evaluation Report. This report will contain a lot of valuable information, including an annual fuel cost comparison for all of the options you are looking at, compared to your current system. The report will help you estimate the time it will take to recoup your initial investment for different efficiency options, and tell you how much energy you could expect to save, assuming your current usage remains the same. This will allow you to make an extremely informed decision about your home comfort system.
