A drain-safety correction during Wallingford mini-split maintenance
Several indoor units share the work of conditioning this Wallingford home. During maintenance on a Mitsubishi system with two mini-split heads and an air handler, Evergreen found a drainage-safety wiring detail that needed correction. Looking after the home meant checking how the system responds to a drain problem as well as how it heats.
Cleaning across the indoor units
The mini-split coils were sanitized, drain pans cleaned, and electrical and refrigerant connections checked. The drain lines were properly sloped and draining, and temperature rise across the units was satisfactory. At the air handler, the drain and indoor coil were cleaned and sanitized, and the blower wheel and electrical connections were examined.
That electrical inspection revealed safety switches wired in parallel rather than in series. The technician corrected the wiring and confirmed that activating the safety switches now cut power. The completed test verified the shutdown response of the corrected safety circuit.
Checking the shared equipment
The outdoor coil was sanitized, the branch box inspected, and outdoor electrical and refrigerant connections checked. The air-filtration system was cleaned, and the air scrubber was active during the visit.
For a homeowner, drainage protection is usually hidden until it is needed. This appointment paired cleaning with a verified safety-switch response, making an important background function part of the maintenance work. Annual maintenance was recommended for continued care of the multi-zone system.
