Choosing ductless heating during a South Delridge remodel
With parts of the home opened up for a remodel, this South Delridge homeowner had a useful chance to rethink heating. They wanted to compare ductless units with adding ducts while access was available. The decision was about what made sense for the house over time, as well as the work happening now.
Comparing the routes through the home
During the visit, the homeowner asked about different combinations for upstairs and downstairs. They were considering ductless units on both levels, or ducts upstairs with ductless equipment below.
The open construction made that a timely question, but it did not make every option equally practical. The homeowner wanted to understand what adding ducts would involve and how much additional disruption a downstairs duct route might create. The conversation connected equipment choices with the remodel already under way.
The selected ductless installation
The completed project used a Mitsubishi MXZ-4D30NL outdoor heat pump with MSZ-FX06NL and MSZ-FX15NL wall-mounted indoor units. The scope included an extended electrical run and line-set covering, including additional cover lengths.
The job photographs show a wall-mounted unit in a finished room and the outdoor heat pump beside the house. Covered refrigerant lines connect the equipment along the exterior wall.
Making use of a planning opportunity
Here, the homeowner’s starting point was the remodel and the chance to compare approaches before more surfaces were closed up. If heating is part of a renovation, bring the construction plans into the estimate conversation. It helps explain which spaces are accessible, which rooms matter and what extra work an alternative might involve.
