A North Delridge furnace check finds a separate air-scrubber issue

During this North Delridge maintenance visit, our technician checked how the gas furnace heated, moved air and responded to the thermostat. The furnace operated normally during testing. The finding that needed a separate conversation was an air-cleaning accessory attached to the system.

Checking the furnace through a normal cycle

The technician inspected and tested the furnace, including the filter and blower compartment. The filter was clean, and the blower compartment did not have excessive buildup. Airflow and heating output were within range.

The thermostat also cycled the system on and off normally. No immediate furnace concerns were found during those checks.

Separating heat from the air-cleaning accessory

The air-scrubber cell had failed. The technician recommended considering its replacement if the homeowner wanted to address that indoor-air-quality accessory, and noted that an estimate would be sent separately.

The failed cell was a distinct finding from the furnace operation. Replacing it would be a separate job, giving the homeowner an option to consider while the furnace itself was cycling normally.

That distinction matters when a household is deciding what needs attention now and what to plan for separately. The furnace checks and the failed accessory did not tell the same story. Explaining each finding gave the homeowner a clearer basis for considering the air-scrubber recommendation without confusing it with a heating failure.
