Helping an Issaquah system read the right room temperature

Some bedrooms were getting too warm while the thermostat was reading a cooler part of this Issaquah home. The homeowner wanted more comfortable temperatures during the heating season. Before discussing a larger change, our technician checked how the Mitsubishi system was measuring the home and responding during a run test.

Comparing the rooms with the thermostat location

The inspection found a meaningful difference: the bedrooms were about five to six degrees warmer than the office area where the thermostat was located. That meant the control was reading a cooler space than some of the rooms the homeowner wanted to keep comfortable.

The next step focused on that temperature source. Our technician adjusted the thermostat settings so the system would read temperature from the indoor equipment instead of the thermostat. The completed adjustment changed the information the system used to make its heating decisions, without moving the wall control during this visit.

Trying the adjustment in everyday use

The system was functioning properly during the service check. The homeowner was asked to use the equipment and contact the office if the rooms continued to become too warm. Everyday use would help show whether the changed temperature source provided the comfort they were looking for.

The goal was a more useful balance between the cooler thermostat location and the warmer bedrooms. The photo is a detail from the indoor equipment inspected during the diagnostic visit. This was a practical first adjustment grounded in measured room differences, with a clear request to report back if the comfort issue continued.
