How Energize Shoreline Works

Step 1 — Attend a Required Workshop

Homeowners must attend an Energize Shoreline workshop before becoming eligible for the program’s exclusive discounts.

The workshops explain:

  • How heat pumps heat and cool your home
  • Which homes and systems may qualify
  • Available discounts, incentives, and financing
  • How to work with a qualified participating installer

Workshops may be attended in person or online when available.

Step 2 — Request Your Program Discount Code

After attending a workshop, eligible homeowners can request a unique Energize Shoreline discount code from the City of Shoreline.

Depending on household eligibility and available funding, the code may provide a discount of $2,500 or $6,000.

Homeowners seeking a fully covered heat pump through the low-income track must complete the City’s separate application process.

Step 3 — Schedule Your Evergreen Home Assessment

Once you have attended a workshop—or while you are preparing for one—schedule a complimentary assessment with Evergreen.

Your Comfort Advisor will identify the most appropriate qualifying heat pump options for your home and prepare a detailed proposal.

Step 4 — Select a Qualifying System

To receive an Energize Shoreline discount, the heat pump must appear on the program’s Qualified Product List and must be installed by a contractor on the Qualified Installer List.

Evergreen will help you select an eligible system that also fits your home, comfort preferences, and budget.

Step 5 — Apply the Discount and Complete Your Project

For eligible Standard and Moderate-Income projects, Evergreen will include the applicable Energize Shoreline discount in your qualifying proposal and assist with the required contractor documentation.

Additional utility discounts or financing may also be available depending on the equipment, utility provider, and homeowner eligibility.

Program approval and funding are controlled by the City of Shoreline. Discounts cannot be guaranteed until eligibility and funding are confirmed.

Which Energize Shoreline Track May Apply to You?

Standard Track — $2,500 Discount

You may qualify when you:

  • Own a single-family home or townhouse within Shoreline
  • Currently use a working natural-gas, oil, or electric-resistance system as your primary heating source
  • Attend an Energize Shoreline workshop in 2025 or 2026
  • Select qualifying heat pump equipment
  • Use an approved participating installer

Homes already using a heat pump as their primary heating source are generally not eligible.

Moderate-Income Track — $6,000 Discount

You must satisfy the Standard Track requirements and have a gross household income between 81% and 150% of King County Area Median Income.

The City determines income eligibility. Evergreen does not request or verify your household income.

Low-Income Track — Potentially Fully Covered

Eligible homeowners may apply for a heat pump and installation with 100% of qualifying costs covered.

Applicants must satisfy the program’s basic homeowner and equipment requirements and be enrolled in an approved assistance program, such as:

  • Seattle City Light Utility Discount Program
  • Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program
  • Shoreline Wastewater District utility assistance program

The City reviews and ranks applications. Applying does not guarantee selection.

Evergreen installed our system a few years ago and had been maintaining it ever since. I just had a routine annual cleaning some by Tristan, who was kind and competent, communicating when he was arriving and working quickly.

Two separate heat pump installations at two different sites. Same excellent customer service, work quality, and thoroughness. Evergreen has been fantastic, trustworthy, and easy to work with.

Why Installation Quality Matters

Most comfort problems aren’t equipment problems.

They’re installation problems.

At Evergreen, we:

✔ Properly size your system for your home
✔ Evaluate airflow and ductwork
✔ Install to manufacturer specifications
✔ Test performance before completion
✔ Stand behind our work

A high-efficiency system only works if it’s installed correctly.

Why Heat Pumps Make Sense Now

One System. Heating & Cooling. High Efficiency.

Modern heat pumps:

✔ Heat and cool your home in one system
✔ Use significantly less energy
✔ Deliver consistent, even comfort
✔ Qualify for rebates and incentives
✔ Reduce long-term operating costs

Today’s systems are not what they were 15 years ago.

They’re quieter. Smarter. More efficient. Built for modern homes.

Is Your Current System Costing You More Than It Should?

You may not need another repair. You may need an upgrade. If your system is:

  • 10 to 15+ years old

  • Breaking down repeatedly

  • Causing high energy bills

  • Struggling to heat or cool evenly

  • Using outdated refrigerant

  • No longer keeping up with extreme temperatures

It may be time to replace it, not keep patching it.

Every repair on an aging system is money that doesn’t come back.
